The Big Stories of the Bible

I’m excited to announce that the website now offers the Big Stories of the Bible. With 52 lessons, the Big Stories of the Bible set allows you to take your Sunday School class through well-known stories of the Bible in a year. Beginning in the Old Testament and working all the way to the Second Coming of Jesus, these lessons offer games, activities, science experiments and more. If you long for your kids to have a grasp of the Bible as a whole, work through these lessons with them.

If you’d rather do a deep dive into a particular book (which is more my style), check out other free lesson plans I offer here.

Finally, maybe your family or the families at your church are looking for a Bible study for devotion time. If you find the idea of reading the Bible to your kids intimidating because you know they’ll ask questions that perhaps you yourself are wrestling with, I encourage you to do it anyway! “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Psalm 9:10). Dear parents, he will give you the wisdom you need, and it’s always okay to explain to your kids that you’re still trying to learn as well.

It isn’t easy to disciple your kids, but it is so worth your while. If you’re looking to read through Mark, Philippians, Colossians, or 1 Peter, I have introductory commentaries for kids that walk through each section and chapter. Take your time, reading only a section of the book at a time, if necessary. Then, read through the commentary to help explain and apply what you’re reading. Growth and new habits take time. So, plant seeds and water them and watch as the Master Gardener causes them to grow!

Each Kid’s Companions contains sticky notes which will help to define words, explain culture, give a brief history of a person, or cross reference to other places in Scripture for better understanding.
