Acts Lesson Plans

Our latest unit of study will take us through the book of Acts. Through these FREE downloadable lesson plans, we’ll explore the movement of the Holy Spirit within the early church through reenactments, games, activities, and experiments.

Acts 1
Introduction and the Ascension

Learn about the background of the book of Acts and create a stained-glass window to remind us how Jesus ascended, but also how he’s coming back!

Acts 2
Pentecost

Do an experiment where a flame jumps from a candle to another to remember how the Spirit was poured out on the believers at Pentecost.

Acts 3
The Crippled Beggar

Create a tube-man to retell this story in a silly way that will cause the kids to remember to praise God every time they see a tube-man.

Acts 4
The Believers Pray and Share

Take it down to the basics in this lesson where the kids pray, read Scripture, and serve one another and their church.

Acts 5
The Apostles are Persecuted

Teach your students how to share the gospel and play a jailbreak game in this lesson.

Acts 6-7
Stephen’s Speech

Study and draw out the Old Testament story that Stephen told before he was martyred for his belief in Jesus.

Acts 8
Philip and the Ethiopian

Reenact the story of Philip and the Ethiopian with different movie genres.

Acts 9
Saul’s Conversion

Create an obstacle course to go through blindfolded to mimic Saul after his experience on the road to Damascus.

Acts 10
Cornelius and Peter

Play a game to remember the sheet being lowered and what it represents for us!

Acts 12
Peter’s Escape from Prison

Create flip books to tell the story of Peter escaping from prison without words.

Acts 14
Paul’s Missionary Journeys

Experiment with magnetism and do a map activity to understand Paul’s journeys.

Acts 15
The Council at Jerusalem

Use cups, paper, and pennies in an experiment to remind us of the weight of the law. Then, see how Jesus bore that weight for us.
